About this lesson

Lady Starlight talks about her relationship with modular synthesis and studio set up as a rehearsal for live performances. She demonstrates raw modular techno with a functional and evolving setup. She uses a sequencer to recall patterns and talks through how certain equipment inspires sounds and directions, while also considering setting limitations to work with what you have available.

Colleen Martin, known professionally as Lady Starlight, is an American DJ and musical performer. Based in New York City's Lower East Side, she is best known for her numerous collaborations with Lady Gaga, supporting her three times on tour. Starlight released her debut extended play, Untitled, in 2017. She used to be a go-go dancer which gave her motivation to take control of the music.
