About this lesson

343 Labs Instructor and producer Justin Lewis-Beck teach the fundamental principles of Techno, using a classic approach - programming 909 and 808 patterns to create a dynamic groove, demonstrating various automation techniques using the audio effect rack (including parallel processing reverb) and humanising the sound with randomisations. He also looks at incorporating the melodic/harmonic elements and midi mapping to maximise the creativity and intensity of the loop.

Under the moniker Lewis-Beck, Justin has been producing electronic music for over a decade. His work has been featured by international club culture magazine Mixmag, and his records have been rinsed by some of the biggest artists in underground house and techno, including Maceo Plex, Todd Terry, Doorly, and many more. His most recent EP ‘Pantomime’ is currently featured in the June Indie Dance Hype Chart on Beatport. He is an instructor in Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Songwriting and Vocal Production for 343 Labs.
