About this lesson

In this video, the Ableton instructor takes us through treating hats (Aparde, David August style), using the Battery plug-in and also Fab Filter pro and Decapitator on Sound Toys . He addresses frequency issues and isolates plugins to test the sound.

Aparde is a German electronica and techno-producer as well as musician, Live Act and DJ. He is a multi-instrumentalist and attended the Wolgast Music School for nine years.

David August  is a non-conformist electronic artist signed to Ninja Tune. He has released music on labels spanning underground hothouse Innervisions and Dynamic; remixed the likes of Max Cooper and The Acid; won 4th place in Resident Advisor’s best live acts of 2014 and 2015; embarked on a PHD in sound design; worked on politically charged music with Greek harpist and singer Sissi Rada; and performed with the 50-piece Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin for 3 consecutive sold out nights.
