In this video, Carl Cox takes you through a personal tour of how he uses the Model 1 mixer, created by fellow DJ Richie Hawtin to perform live. He uses Traktor technology alongside the Model mixer and talks through how you can set up your live set too.
Model 1 is a fully analogue, pro DJ mixer that encourages you to ‘play differently’. This is intended for DJs who play House/Techno (the more minimal side). It’s a slight rework of the four-channel Model 1, with a single parametric EQ and subtle LPF and HPF per channel as opposed to the usual crossfader, onboard effects. In addition, a master filter section, a master three-band EQ, two FX send/returns cueing for two DJs independently, and multi-channel I/O via DSUB connectors for attaching an external audio interface.
